(not an official statement from the XFree86-core team, but valid
anyway): You should not try to build or fix XFree86 3.0 which is coming
with X11R6! The version is a beta version which is buggy, slow, unstable,
and has all the other bad properties you would not like to see with any
software. The XFree86 team is busy to fix all these bugs, this will
result in a fixed version XFree86 3.1 (no comments on the release date).
As long as the fixed version is not available, please stick with
XFree86-2.1. It is not worthwhile to hack the R6 version at this moment.
This statement holds for all versions of NetBSD, FreeBSD and Linux,
and is not a specific problem of NetBSD-current.
