Hi I am about to setup a new system for running both Win 3.1 and X11
1st Priority is X11R5, not win 3.1

I now have
 486-33 with 4Meg of ram
1 IDE 105 Drive with regular controller
 1 86Meg Seagate SCSI Drive.
 1 1.44 floppy drive
 1 Nec 3D monitor
 1 Viva 9600 with V42 & V32

I need a new SCSI Controller: (As cheaply as possible :-))

After reading all the message, I see that the standard for 386bsd is
  Adaptec controller.
Please tell me which model is the best and is there a good and cheap
  brand and model substitution :-)

Should I setup to boot from the SCSI or IDE?? Can I run both
  386BSD and DOS? :-)

I need a new SVGA card :-)

I know it must be ET4000, with 1 meg of Vram & RAMDAC??
Please give me some brand and model as to which on is the best at
  the least $ :-) Oh, I want HiColor the 32K too :_)
  Orchid PD IIs (1meg)??
or Diamond Speedstar (1meg)?? :_)) Anyother choices?

Thanks alottttttsss
I'll have to bug all after I have the hardware :-))
