Everything is okay till I reboot. Newfs, fsck, copying files to the new file system all work as expected. However, following a reboot, fsck reports errors in sectors on the last track of the last cylinder of the disk. At this point the filesystem is trashed and I must rebuild the label (via disklabel) before I can newfs it again. Once I removed the bad sector forwarding key from my disktab entry the problem dissappeared. Just thougth I'd mention this in case someone else was struggling with the problem or had a fix. -- Bob Willcox ...!{rutgers|ames}!cs.utexas.edu!uudell!rancor!obiwan!bob Phone: 512 258-4224 (home) 512 838-3914 (work)
