Hello,

I am having a devil of a time getting dial-up to work with
NetBSD-0.9. I have a A/T IO board for the com ports. The first com
port is for the mouse, so I am trying to use /dev/tty01. I have two
different external Hayes compatible modems I have been trying to use.
Both give the same results. I am running XFree2.0. I have disabled
the console in the /etc/ttys file. Ps tells me that getty is running
on tty "co".

I enabled the com port in /etc/ttys. I have tried "std.9600",
"std.2400", and "Autobaud". I have tried turning clocal on and off
with stty. I have tried at&c0/at&c1, at&d0/at&d2, at&s0/at&s1.

I can get a direct connect to work. But either the modem does
not answer the phone (I did set ats0=1), or it answers the phone and
nothing happens. Sometime I can see getty running and the transmit
and receive lights flashing on the modem.

Also, this may be related, sending a HUP signal to init does
not always start or stop getty. Often I will need to reboot to get
getty to start.

I have been told that dial-up is broken in NetBSD-0.9, and
right now I am inclined to believe it. Is this a known problem, and
is it fixed in NetBSD-1.0?

Also, FreeBSD has the sio device that allows dialing in and
out on the same device with out the old enable/disable kludge. Will
something like this be in NetBSD-1.0?

Finally is there a known bug list for NetBSD-0.9?
