I just converted my system to all SCSI (no more IDE) and now have
space to reinstall FreeBSD. I have and Adaptec 1542CF with a 500 (ID#0)
meg and 330 (ID#1) meg drives (both Maxtor). I have DOS/WINDOWS on the
500 and I want to install FreeBSD on the the 330. On booting from the
kcopy_ah.flp, the SCSI controller is recognized and so are the two disks.
Now comes the problems. When asked where to install, this is what I get:

Install onto which drive [sd0] sd1

Disk sd1 is of device type sd.

Examining device /dev/rsd1d...
uid0 on /: file system full
/: writefailed, file system full

Can't open /dev/rsd1d for reading!
Hm - we can't seem to read that drive.

Are you sure that SCSI is the correct type?

First question, is it possible that there is no rsd1d device and if there
isn't how do I create one in the /dev directory on the floppy? So, I
continue to see what happens:

Labeling disk... done.

Init root...

newfs: /dev/rsd1a: no such file or directory
/dev/sd1a on /mnt: no such file or directory

Second question, how should label the disk? There is some mention in
the FAQ about the native vs DOS values. If I'm going to keep the 330
disk all FreeBSD, but use something like os-bs to boot, do I need to
use the native or DOS values?

Last (and unrelated) question, when is 2.0 unofficaly scheduled for
release.
