I'm working on adding my small network to the Internet. Connection is
made via a 14.4Kbps dialup SLIP connection. I can telnet out, ftp,
you name it. I just can't ping hosts outside of my own local network.
Strange, considering I can reach them via telnet.

Here's a few facts to consider:

* The IP address of my local net is 199.26.157.x, which is an "official"
class C assigned by the InterNIC.

* My domain is vertigo.com, this is NOT official, and is not used outside
my local network (not until it's official, anyways).

* I am connecting to my provider's NetBlazer, which uses Dynamic IP. (I
get a different IP address every time I dial up).

* My gateway machine is an Intel-based machine running FreeBSD 1.1.0(Beta).
All of my tests were run from the gateway (everest).

* Configuration and routing are done as follows:
	slattach -s 38400 /dev/ttyd0
	ifconfig sl0 ${IP_ADDRESS} up
	route flush
	route add default ${IP_ADDRESS}

Any ideas on where I should continue looking? I can't find anything
abnormal in any of my configuration files.
