Ok, I have posted twice within the last week, but I've only got
one response that didn't help. The situation is an Adaptec 1542CF
with a Maxtor LXT535-SY. The SCSI adapter is set to port 330, IRQ 11,
and DRQ 5. The SCSI drive is ID#0. When I boot up FreeBSD, the
adapter and all the devices are recognized, but trying to do
anything with the drive beyond that fails. With NetBSD, it will
recognize the adapter, but pause for a long time and state that the
cmd has failed and repeat.

The system had FreeBSD once before when I HAD IDE. But, now all
I have is SCSI. Everything works under DOS/WINDOWS (if that
means anything).

I have followed the FAQs, read all the docs, switched SCSI cables,
and even crossed my fingers, but none of it has worked. Please
help me. Thanks.
