I'm running FreeBSD-1.1.5.1r using a Micropolis 976meg EIDE and have had
absolutely NO PROBLEMS! Just plugged 'er in and installed the OS. The
install script warns about haveing >1024 cylinders, but just ignore it.
My system is an "old" all-ISA bus 486dx50 with "state-of-the-art" parts
from 2 1/2 years ago (not exactly top o'the line anymore) and it works
like a charm. Guys tried to sell me an "improved" IDE card of some kind,
but my old stock 2hd/2fd/2ser/1par/1gam card works like a charm.
