It's not one of the sub-targets of 'world' but with the : way stuff is nested in the makefiles it's a little hard to tell if it should : be hit eventually. You do have to compile your own kernel and the bootstrapld only needs to be done if you are upgrading from a pre 1.1 system as 1.1 already has shared libs. It sounds like everything went fine. You might want to make a change to one of your users accounts using vipw to get your passwd file rebuilt to be on the safe side and then just compile your own kernel, cross your fingers and reboot. : One more thing. Am I just supposed to copy the directory /usr/src/etc to etc : (with appropriate caution for trashing files of course) or is there more to : do? I usually "diff -c" all the files between /etc and /usr/src/etc and cp appropriate files to /etc. Usually only a couple files have changed.
