In my private email with Linus, I have found him to be very nice and
honest. I did not detect excessive ego also. (The contents of the
discussion were private), and he did seem to be open to new ideas.

The only major thing that I have a problem with on Linux, is that a lot more
technology could have been legally borrowed from other places, but that was
probably not his purpose. I don't necessarily call that NIH.

So many times, the validity of criticism is short-lived. The BSD networking
code is good, and the Linux stuff will probably soon catch up. On FreeBSD,
we are working on adding new features and making the system run better --
isis the beauty of competition.)
