Never claimed that it was good for "high performance bit pushing", simply that from a design point of view, STREAMS has more appeal than does the BSD implementation. If you constantly look through a microscope, your vision tends to remain narrow. Some of what you had to say was interesting, if you were trying to disseminate information and education (i.e. BSD does a finer job at being able to bit push). However, your soapbox mentality and automagic assumption that I'm in management (when all I really did is look at things from a macro POV) hurts your credibility. -scottm
