I have a DeskJet 550C connected to my first parallel port, and want this to be the system printer. Whenever I send something to /dev/lpt1 directly, it will be printed "as is". Whenever I do this via lpd using a simple printcap-entry, only confused lines and some formfeeds will be printed. Does anyone know a useful printcap-entry and/or the right position of the dip-switches i have to set on my printer?
