Date: 15 Aug 1994 12:24:55 -0400 Organization: University of Denver, Math/CS Dept. Lines: 16 Message-ID: <32o4sn$skg@nyx10.cs.du.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: nyx10.cs.du.edu Summary: FreeBSD 1.1(release) dosen't seem to like my int. modem Keywords: freebsd sio sio2 internal modem broke This seems really odd. I'm running FreeBSD 1.1(release), and can't seem to get my internal modem working right. Actually, FreeBSD dosen't want to recognize it at all. The line in my kernel conf file has sio1 set to 0x2f8 irq 3, and my modem's jumers are at COM2, irq 3. When I have everything set up this way, it just says "sio1 not found at 0x2f8" or similar. But If I take the modem *out* it says "sio1 at 0x2f8 is a 16550A" or some such message. The modem *does* appear to be a 16450 UAR, if it makes a difference. Anyway, I'm stumped. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks.. -- James B.
