I've just acquired the Walnut Creek CD-ROM for FreeBSD, and am a
little disappointed that the Soundblaster CD-ROM config is not supported
in FreeBSD. I've seen the comments to the effect that "you get what you
pay for", etc., and that SCSI is the way to go even if more expensive.
However, I'm wondering if there is a better rationale for not supporting
the SB CD-ROM drives. (I certainly am not going out to pickup a SCSI
cd-rom drive, particularly when I already have an SB drive.)
From what I've heard, there is a driver that works just fine with
these things in NetBSD-1.0 (Beta).
