Any suggestions on where to buy a unix compatible system with: If need be I'll drop from a p-60 to a 486-66 to get a reliable machine. Well, my ALR (Advanced Logic Research) EISA system has been nothing but top-notch in reliability, performance, and non-flakiness. It has never done anything to indicate bad, stupid, or substandard design to me. And, in fact, all the parts I can identify look like ALR went out of their way to make the thing as excellent as possible. Plus, their support has been just fine by my standards. The only catch is that ALR doesn't sell mail-order -- you must buy from an ALR-authorized dealer. But the ALR Evolution V (Pentium) machines have gotten nothing but excellent reviews (just like all the major ALR boxes before it), and are about the fastest Pentiums on the market. In spite of the somewhat high price, I intend to buy ALR again. -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Michael L.
