Hi,

I'd suggest taking a look at the Macintosh port of NetBSD. This port runs 
on all 68030 NuBus (and SE/30) Macs and supports the following hardware :

NCR 5380 SCSI controller
Zilog 8530 SCC
and lots of Apple-specific things...

You can find lots of valuable information in 
The Design and Implementation of the 4.3 BSD Operating System
(short "The Demon Book") by McKusick et al.

Would you mind telling me some details about your 68030 machine ? I have 
some 68020s lying around here and would really like to build a machine with 
the 020. The last machine I built still used the 6809.... :-)
