Hello all I've got a problem I haven't been able to figure out for
myself that hopefully someone can help me with.

Take three machines, outgate, ale, bitter. NFS export some file
systems from ale and outgate to everyone. Mount these file systems on
bitter off of the root.

ie:
outgate:/etc/exports
	/usr/home
ale:/etc/exports
	/usr/home
bitter:/etc/fstab
	ale:/usr/home /u nfs	rw 0 0
	outgate:/usr/home	/outgate nfs	rw 0 0

Now I log into bitter as dchapes with a home directory of /u/dchapes
and pwd fails in /u, /u/dchapes, and /outgate/dchapes but works in
/outgate. The error is "pwd: Permission denied". Tcsh reports the
correct directory in the prompt however.

I've checked all the permissions and I have read and search all these
directories ( including / ), my user id's are the same on all three
machines. I tried exporting the file systems with -root=0 and the same
thing happens.

    Can anyone help?
