I'd like it to run on a 386dx (of some decent speed (yet to be purchased)), 4 or 8 megs of ram, a monochrome monitor (hercules), and about 500 megs of free hard drive space (ide drive most likely). I'd like it to come with everything i need to network it pre-compiled (all the daemon's, etc ready to roll). Now, in your opinion, which is more suited to my application (personal workstation with internet access, probably single user, though maybe a few of my friends would use it occasionally), netbsd, freebsd, or linux. Note, I did not ask which is better (i don't want to start a flame war), but which is easiest to set up, and has what I'm looking for, and will run on the hardware I'm looking at? What are the real differences between freebsd and netbsd? E-mail replies are fine, if I get good ones, I'll compile and post. -- Frodo -=- The opinions expressed in this message are mine, and mine alone. frodo@mailhost.ecn.uoknor.edu -=- Unlike some mindless idiots, I don't let my 1@314-394-1306 -=- employer decide how I should think.
