I'm trying to network 2 machines with FreeBSD-1.1-B. I'm having problems : trying to use servies like 'telnet, ftp, etc..'. I can ping the host machine : but can't telnet there. My IP addresses are as follows: : 1) FreeBSD machine ( 130.245.150.1 netmask 255.255.255.0) : 2) Host machine ( 130.245.150.0 netmask 255.255.255.0) ^^^ Now, I'm no tcp/ip expert or anything, but I don't think that you're supposed to configure an interface having an ip address with zero as the host part. With the netmask you're using, the last byte is the host address, the rest being the network address. So don't use the address 130.245.150.0. I hope this helps ( and hope it's correct ;-) lirwin@admin1101dp.ucr.edu
