It's more likely the other vendors will just stand aside and chortle while
two of their competitors try to claw each other's eyes out.  This way they
can do whatever they want at a future time, with a less populated playing
field.  (I'll bet that they're wishing for AT&T to lose and BSDI to die in
the struggle).
