Is there a better Intel Based UNIX out there for a project like this ? I think any of the BSD users will tell you that NetBSD and FreeBSD are much higher-feature systems than SCO, and they're free. If you really need to pay money for support though, BSDI's BSD/386 is gobs better than SCO, especially for networking, IMHO. Anyway, any of the systems mentioned should handle the above mentioned tasks with little difficulty. Oh yeah, you'll get lots of Linux evangelists telling you Linux is the best thing since two-partner sex -- while they may be a little overwhelming in their intensity, and while I personally don't like Linux much, I'd definitely rather run it than SCO. 3. Do you know anyone who has blazed this trail, i.e. has already used SCO UNIX to set up an Internet Site ? No, and probably with good reason. I do know of several Internet sites running off the three BSD systems mentioned above, however.
