I've been playing SUN ulaw sound files on my home 486 system and office
SUN workstation. In general, the sound is great on the SUN and really
distorted on the 486. Has anyone else noticed a lot of distortion
when playing ulaw sound files?

I'm running FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 and have a Thunder Media Audio Spectrum
(which is supposed to be part for part the same as a PAS).

I've swapped out speakers, so it's not that. I'm prepared to believe
that my cheapo soundcard is at fault, but I'd like confirmation.
