I've tried about a half a dozen different brands of floppies installed from three separate 3.5" floppy drives. I can often get past the disklabeling but never past the cpio. I have since put linux on my Quantum drive so I can use the system and thought I would try and install FreeBSD on a second Hitachi 1GB drive. Problem is, there is no /dev/sd1 on the filesystem floppy! So - I made a new one on my 386 (FreeBSD 1.1.5.1) at home (that one does run fine). The process still had problems during the disklabel. Is the floppy being used at all in the middle of a disklabel? It took about 30 seconds or so. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter Howlett (New Address) Atlantic Systems Group E-Mail: phowlett@ASG.unb.ca Fredericton, N.B.
