Date: 5 Sep 94 13:01:17 AEST Organization: University Of Queensland Lines: 18 Message-ID: <1994Sep5.130117.1@uqvax> Reply-To: D.Smith@cc.uq.oz.au NNTP-Posting-Host: uqvax.cc.uq.oz.au Does anyone know of any drivers for FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 that will support a VESA SCSI controller (say the Adaptec - I don't know a model number off hand)? WIll this have the same 16Mb limits that the ISA controller has (due to bus addressing restrictions)? While on that subject, the FreeBSD Release Notes indicate that you cannot use the ADAPTEC 1452 CFK with more than 16Mb of memory. It then goes on to say that the system will use "bounce buffering" if necessary, allowing the use of more than 16Mb. Which is correct? Does this mean that you can transparently use more than 16Mb of memory while also using the ADAPTEC ISA SCSI controller? ========================================================================== Danny Smith | Phone: +61 7 365 4105 The Prentice Centre | Fax: +61 7 365 4477 The University of Queensland | Qld. 4072.
