I didn't miss the smiley, but it's worth pointing out that the original Linux curses was an old version of BSD curses and the dbm library was gdbm. Neither of these was developed by those in the Linux community. For some people, NIH means Not Invented in Berkeley. Both gdbm and sdbm were around before the 4.4BSD db, but there were good reasons to develop a new dbm library. I hope people realize that Linux might have begun in a similar situation. -- Robert, proud to unify two lame threads
