Huegen) Newsgroups: comp.os.386bsd.questions Subject: Getting FreeBSD or NetBSD to let Adaptec 1542 and IDE's coexist Date: 6 Sep 1994 17:19:33 GMT Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Lines: 25 Message-ID: <34i8b5$3nt@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: ux1.cso.uiuc.edu Keywords: SCSI, IDE, FreeBSD, NetBSD Well, I tried and tried. Both NetBSD and FreeBSD report the following error on boot: aha0: Cmd/data port full And then it doesn't detect the Micropolis 1.7G drive. This was after I recompiled the kernel, because my Adaptec is at 0x130. Is it a problem with the base address? or with my IDE? Also... Does anyone know why FreeBSD and NetBSD fail to recognize the internal IDE controller on a DELL 486DX2/66 "T" (tower) system? I had to put a different IDE controller in and disable the internal one for it to work. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Craig A.
