Xad speeds up the design and implementation of the user interface
component of applications, also allowing optimizations and enhancements
to be built into the development cycle.
Xad has been developed to satisfy the following requirements:
- Xad generated code does not add any appreciable code overhead
compared with manual coding. In reality you will probably find
that Xad generated code is better!
- The source code and data structures generated by Xad can be
easely modified and mainteined even without the use of Xad
itself.
- Xad leaves to the programmer the same degree of freedom
available with manual coding.
- Xad does not impose significant memory of CPU overheads either
during development or for the completed application.
Evaluation Version!

The product is available as a low cost unprotected evaluation version
called XadLite.
Xad, the full featured version, is available with hardware key
protection. The runtime Xad Library to be linked to the target
applications, is distribuited in object format with XadLite and in
both object and source format with Xad. The source format allows the
user to migrate his final product to any Unix-Motif platform.
Extensive use of Xad has demonstrated an average User Interface
Development saving of up to 90% compared with manual coding techniques.
In addition, Xad's flexibility makes it an ideal prototyping tool
allowing different screen interfaces to be tried *without* imposing any
constraints on the final code.
The Xad library provides a suite of functions to :
- access the data structures generated by Xad
- to manage the final application on line Help
and much, much more.
Xad is also a valuable Motif training aid allowing applications to be
generated quickly without detailed Motif knowledge.
