I probed my Tseng Labs InT'l ET4000 card and got the right dot clocks, checked my supercom SV1485 14" SVGA monitor for correct mode info, but I still have one problem. When X starts, all the images are fine, except for one solitary bright white line down the middle of the screen. It is not the monitor, cuase the line is overlaid on the standard X screen and doesn't affect the images on the screen. The line is JUSt there??!! Has anyone had a similar problem? I know its not a monitor hardware problem, thats been checked. Im at a loss. TFM is no help, unfortunately. I know how each different each monitor and card is, but I wonder how MS-WIN standardized its display driver? I mean, it will always work atleast under 16colors no matter what monitor and card MS-WIN is installed on. I would really like to know how that was done. Anyone know where to look? Thanks for any info, Senthil
