Hello all. I have read the FAQ's and decided that rather than try using
existing hardware, we would buy a PC for our next unix system. I am
looking for suggestions on all hardware for the folowing system:

A computer capable of running PC/UN*X that can maintain between 8-32
concurrent users (depending on price of needed hardware). We want it to at
least recieve a news feed, be able to ftp in, telnet in, use tin (or other
menu driven news), and maybe use it as a gopher. Ultimately we would like
something to supply our users will anything they want that is supported by
unix.

I would like suggestions on best pc's, net cards, drives and sizes
(FULL NEWS!), whether cd rom drive would help, and anything else that you
can think of.

We have not decided on BSD or Linux. I am hoping people out there will
also have suggestions on this as well--not flames about the other system
(or me :) but rational reasons why one would be beter than the other.

Thank you very much. I want our PC/UN*X expearence to be as fun as
possable, and am excited to become part of either the BSD or Linux
community.
