I'm trying to install FreeBSD 1.1.5.1 R on a 486Dx2/66 with a BT545 controller, Micropolis 2217 (1.7GB) drive, and 16MB ram. The system has an existing 600MB DOS partition. I have tried turning the BT545's geometry translation on and doing the install (after reformatting the disk of course) and I've tried it with it off as well. in both cases I get the following message during install (I'm using the kcopy_ah kernal): Examining device /dev/rsd0d uid 0 on /: file system full /:write failed, file system is full If I proceed with installation, FreeBSD doesn't see the DOS partition and vaporizes it during the install. I've read the FAQ and Install docs and know about making sure the disk geometry that I feed FreeBSD during install is critical, but I think something else is going wrong here. Any ideas? fletcher@techcenter.paccar.com
