I've installed FreeBSD 1.1 on my pc, but can't seem to access my modem. When the bus is probed during bootup, sio0 and sio1 are detected (type 16450). However, I can't seem to find either of these special files in the /dev directory. Should I expect to see them there? From my limited understanding, it seems like I should see at least one of these files there, and then be able to do something like set line /dev/sio0 from Kermit. I'm using a Hayes Smartmodem 2400. It's internal. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. David Eisner cradle@wam.umd.edu University of Maryland at College Park
