Message-ID: <1994Sep25.151906.1@gracie> Sender: news@mercury.wright.edu (USENET News System) Organization: Wright State University Date: Sun, 25 Sep 1994 20:19:06 GMT Lines: 25 I would like to get a Pentium system to run {Free|Net}BSD on. What are the advantages to getting a motherboard with onboard SCSI? Are there any onboard SCSI chipsets supported by {free|Net}BSD? Does anyone have a vendor list who sells Pentium motherboards with the SCSI chipset? I was hoping to get a PCI motherboard with the onboard SCSI chipset to save some money. This system will be quiet barebones to begin and I will add as money comes in. Are there motherboards that will let me start with a 60mhz pentium and upgrade to the 90mhz chips? I know the chips require different voltages but I thought perhaps someone had designed a motherboard to accept both chips. Thanks for ANY help you can throw my way. I can post a summary if there is interest. -- **************************************************************************** * Ed Jones -- System Dweeb | ejones@sdl.psych.wright.edu * * Signal Detection Lab | ejones@desire.wright.edu * * Department of Psychology | ejones@wsu (Bitnet) * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------ * * Ed Jones -- Graduate Student | "No" - Bob Dole * * Department of Economics | * * Wright State University | * ****************************************************************************
