Previously, my SB 2.0 (8-bit) worked fine with /dev/dsp. I used the programs splay and srec with no problems. Now that I have upgraded, splay says something like "cannot set mono/stereo" and commands like "cat example.wav > /dev/dsp" replies with "stdout" or "i/o error on device". (The program xvmixer seems to work fine). After looking into the source code, I found some disturbing hints that SB16 really isn't supported well in FreeBSD yet (no stereo, etc.). Any help getting as much SB16 support as possible would help me much, as I am working on porting DEC's AudioFile to FreeBSD. Thanks for the help, /* * Mark T. Chapman * chapman@miller.cs.uwm.edu */
