I'm posting this for Vax (vax@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu). He can't read/post
news at the moment (his news system is broken).

I'm having real problems compiling emacs. Notably,
just after it compiles "temacs", it tries to do something in the src/
directory, and says: "abbrev.elc: no make rule" or something like that.
Apparently lisp/abbrev.el is supposed to be compiled into *elc, which
is a dependency of some other program, but I don't know how to fix it.
Do you, or could you post this question as well?
(Damn newsreader needs a new disk)
