I don't have the problem on the : machine with the IDE drive and I do with the SCSI machine. : I must report that while I believe that the Adaptec SCSI controller is a source of problems, that perhpas there may be more than one cause to this problem. Unlike a doctor, we are not looking for symptoms - we are looking for the cause. I have experience the problem on more than one platform and am lead to beleive that I may be a series of defects from various manufacters.. On the west coast we are constantely inundated with the poor quality control of third world countries, namely the far east area. I.
