Make sure that the Adaptec is indeed jumpered for IRQ 11 and DRQ 5. I normally keep my Adaptec jumpered for IRQ 10 for the benefit of a different OS, and when I try booting the Tiny 386BSD disk it will hang after the "Changing root device to fd0a" message unless I rejumper the board to IRQ 11. This behaviour is of course stupid and unnecessary, because the Adaptec has a command for querying its jumper settings. The device driver should at the very least notice when the adapter has inappropriate jumper settings, give a warning message and then ignore the adapter so that the boot sequence can continue, instead of just silently hanging. -- Andreas Gustafsson Internet: gson@niksula.hut.fi Voice: +358 0 563 5592
