Summary: How do I turn off Kerberos?
Keywords: Kerberos passwd security
X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2]

Hello all,

The passwd program just refused to run for one of
my users after reporting it couldn't get a kerberos
ticket (or something to that effect). I've never
enabled kerberos, and so far passwd has let me change my
own password without difficulty. The system complains
it can't get kerberos tickets when I log onto remote hosts,
but that's reasonable, kerberos isn't enabled on
them, either. The error does not interfere with logging in,
however. Can anybody tell me how to just turn
kerberos firmly off?

Thanks for reading!
