For what I understand, "greenness" is the ability of a monitor to decrease its power consumption by turning off its electron gun when it's not being used, such as when the screen is blanked. From what I gather, the video card does not need to be anything special. The monitor is the thing that needs the special hardware. For instance, I have a Green monitor, and a normal ATI GUP VLB card. XFree86 3.1 does activate the green saver. (This was a surprise to me because I thought that only the SVGA and S3 servers had this capability - anyone know???) Mark --- THESE ARE MY OPINIONS ONLY.
