You did not understand my question: I have a SunOS and a FreeBSD machine connected in my home network. My users don't want to change passwords twice and I do not want to run YP, because it's not (yet) fully supported and it's a hog for just passwd and just two machines anyway. As the sun does not have master.passwd and the FreeBSD machine does not understand password aging (e.g. `,..') I cannot just rdist the passwd from the sun to the FreeBSD machine. So I need something converting the traditional passwd format to a master.passwd format before rdist'ing the file.
