But I can't : get hardware handshaking on the dialin device to work. What you say is partly correct, it would work when the line is allready attached. However, it resets every time there's a dialup. You don't want the /dev/ttyd - devices, you want the /dev/ttydi - devices. They're responsible for initialising the dialup devices. If you need any more info, or an example, mail me.
