Date: 18 Oct 1994 14:18:17 GMT Organization: Northeastern University Lines: 21 Distribution: world Message-ID: <JTSILLA.94Oct18101818@denali.ccs.neu.edu> NNTP-Posting-Host: denali.ccs.neu.edu Is anyone in the BSD "community" working on a combined VM filesystem and cache so that I will always get the best utilization of my memory? Also is there any plan to write an "update" process to handle the disk updating. Right now, updates to the disk from the cache seem to happen in a clumsy manner causing my system to stall while waiting for the cache to flush (this may be due to a timeout problem with the disk driver, I can't decide which). Also, which release of FreeBSD has support for bounce buffers for use with bus mastering disk controllers on ISA bus. thanks, -Jim. -- * Jim Tsillas - Cascade Communications, Inc. * * "He is after me.
