I have a REALLY big problem with FreeBSD.. (it also happened with 386bsd)..

After running happily for 6 months, our FreeBSD (1.1.5.1-R) machine has
started popping up messages on the console.. (this also happened with
386bsd previously)

ed1: NIC Memory corrupt - invalid packet length 19969 (and other sizes)

On bootup, the messages say:
ed1: failed to clear shared memory at d8000 - check configuration
ed1: at 0x300-0x31f irq 5 msize 8192 on isa

The card is a standard Novell NE2000 - It HAS been working fine..

Any idea what the problem is??

(replies by email please - I rarely read news)

Rgds,
Paul Reece
