Question:

Which version of FreeBSD, and which version of Linux?  What kind of hardware
is on the Linux box, and what kind is on the FreeBSD box?  What kind of
applications are you running on either box, etc...

I'm *seriously* asking for details, and not trying to ignite a flame-fest
here.  I'd like to know what is the cause of the slow-down, and if anything
can be done to overcome it.
