It turned out to be a typo on my part. Now that I have it compiled with POP support, it's not working as advertised. Here's a dump of what's happening: jpunix:perry {113} inc -host jpunix.com inc: -ERR Password supplied for "perry" is incorrect. It was my understanding (according to Nutshell's MH and xmh book) that inc, msgchk and the other programs that are POP-aware were supposed to prompt me for my password. As you can see above, inc is not doing that. Here is a copy of my MH file at compile time. Can someone tell me why I'm not being prompted for the password? # @(#)$Id: MH,v 1.7 1990/04/06 09:44:31 sources Exp $ # a 4.2BSD VAX system running SendMail bin /usr/local/bin bboards off etc /usr/local/lib/mh mail /var/mail manuals standard mts sendmail/smtp mandir /usr/local/man chown /usr/bin/chown cc /usr/bin/cc ccoptions -O -traditional ldoptlibs -lcrypt pop on popdir /usr/local/etc signal void sprintf int options BSD42 BSD43 DBMPWD BIND MORE='"/usr/bin/more"' NORUSERPASS options NTOHLSWAP SYS5DIR VSPRINTF ZONEINFO MHE MHRC MIME OVERHEAD POSIX options WHATNOW POPSERVICE='"pop3"' John A.
