The manual gives the pinouts for wiring a cable from the UPS to your box, but there's no info on the protocol (if any) used to talk to the UPS. I say `if any' because I haven't even got around to making the cable up yet, let alone test to see what's coming through the port. Part of the reason is that a huge power surge blew the monitor (not connected to the UPS) off the desk, took out the phone, electronic scales and registers in the shop, half of the fans in the coldrooms, and has apparently turned the UPS (TripLite BC400LAN) to slag. Saved $4000 worth of computer, though. Anybody know if there's a reset switch for this UPS? If it's turned on, it makes clicking sounds, but there's no panel lights and no power output. The manual gives no clues and tech support is a little thin on the ground down here. Thanks, Rick. -- Rick "JT" Lyons | The above bytes don't | Usenet before net uses you.
