Does anyone know what the performance difference is between the bus
logic 946 and an NCR 810 based card? The price difference seems to be
   about a factor of 3.

My experience with both shows them to be surprisingly similar in
performance, though the Bt946c seems to have the edge by around 200K/sec
R/W performance in my P5-90 box.
