I just installed FreeBSD 1.1 on a 486DX2/66. The installation seamed to go
fine. I rebooted for the last time in the installation, the reboot that is
supposed boot to a fully functional unix, and the systems panics.

I installed bin, sys, and base. The boot gets through all the device probing
and then it says 'panic: init failed' Then it dumps counting down to 1 from 16
and reboots itself. The system will loop on this error if I let it.

I have a 3com 3c509 ethernet card, I know it is not supported for 1.1 so I
took it out hoping the panic would go away. The panic happens even with
the ethernet card removed.

If it helps, the machine has 16Meg of memory.

I would be very thankful to anyone that could help me.
