Hey Dean,

I had built Xview on a version of FreeBSD, I don't remember which version.
I liked most of it, but it is a little cantankerous. If I enabled the
text editor in a cmdtool, it would work fine for one iteration. Upon
enabling the text editor a second time, cmdtool would exit and dump
core. Also, Open Look does not work well with xdm. Apparently, it
requires a controlling tty. My solution was that I bought Solaris.
Mind you, I use it as a front end for my FreeBSD server, and the xdm
implications remain. Bottom line for me was that Xview provided enough
of a taste of Open Look for me. I like olwm. There are, of course,
religious wars surrounding this issue. Fortunately, the decision is
yours.

Good Luck,
