It sounds like the automatic degaussing circuitry in the monitor.  I
have the same problem with my Nanao F550i-W, except that it doesn't
matter how long the monitor has been off.  The degauss circuitry resets
itself while the monitor is on.  I keep telling myself that I really
need to open up that monitor and install a switch to disable the
degaussing coil, since it would make my UPS pretty useless if the power
should fail while the monitor was in its deepest power-saving mode.
But, I never seem to get a round tuit.
