Date: 28 Oct 1994 10:44:54 GMT Organization: Digital Equipment Corporation Lines: 33 Message-ID: <38qkn6$7nf@nntpd.lkg.dec.com> NNTP-Posting-Host: oils.ozy.dec.com X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2(HT3)] Hi when the CD arrives I want to install FreeBSD 2.0 on the second partition (NT is on the first). Q1: I have heard of some problems with the boor managers and NT. Does FreeBSD have inbuilt boot manager or is os_bs the way to go. Q2: Does os_bs work ok with NT on partition 0 and other (BSD) on partition 1 ? Q3: I use a SCSI disk which has different number of sectors on inner Vs outer tracks. Also the number of cylinders actual (2570) is reported as 1019 and the number of actual heads (14) is reported as 66 by the SCSI controller (this gets around the BIOS 1024 limitation). Is this going to be a problem for BSD ? Many thanks in advance ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Dr Jon Jenkins Location: Digital Equipment Corp, NaC, Burnett Place, Research Park, Bond University, Gold Coast QLD, AUSTRALIA 4229 Phone: 61-75-75-0151 Fax: 61-75-75-0100 Internet: jenkinsj@ozy.dec.com The opinions expressed above are entirely personal and do not reflect the corporate policy of DEC or the opinions of DEC management. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
